Experienced drum tutor and professional musician Alex Smith studied with session great Ralph Salmins before attending Drumtech in London.

His band credits include various gigs with Brian Nash of Frankie Goes To Hollywood and supports with Space, Catatonia, Muse and Will Young, radio one airplay on the Pete Tong show and a television appearance with the late great John Peel.

Alex has also performed a summer season on the Queen Mary 2 and has played in many touring and west end shows including Ben Elton and Andrew Lloyd Webbers The Beautiful Game, The Wedding Singer, Footloose and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to name but a few.

Alex has been a drum tutor for over sixteen years teaching privately and at a variety of schools and colleges in London and throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Currently living in the Plymouth area Alex Plays Annually In the pit band for the Pantomime at the Theatre Royal and can also be seen performing with well known 10 piece funk and soul band Joey the Lips.
